Lace Techniques:

Intro to Bobbin Lace - Whether you're making 16th century lace or modern torchon, the basics of lace making are the same. These notes are from my beginning bobbin lace class, and should be enough to get you started. I strongly recommend finding a hands on teacher, however; it's always easier to ask questions when the teacher is right there.

Using 16th c. Patterns
- We have woodcuts of patterns created in the 16th century, but how do you use them? These are my notes on how to get from pattern to period lace.

Crocheted Reticella
-
Coming Soon! Not for the faint of heart. This is a type of thread crochet that mimics needle made lace, for those whe are better with the hook than the needle. If made with sewing thread and a size 14 or 16 steel hook, this will pass the 10' rule. Invest in a magnifying glass.
Other fiber arts:

Kumihimo - the art of Japanese braiding. These are very basic notes that go with my Introduction to Kumiihimo class.
